Today I want to share with you how I generated over $10,00 in profit last year by adding one simple service to my business – with almost no extra work required.

The best part? Every single wedding photographer can take advantage of the information in the post regardless of skill level.

As great as our job is, there is one HUGE problem to overcome with most wedding photography business models. The money you make is directly tied to the hours you work.

Yes, you could hire associate photographers, full time staff and the like, however what I have learned is that there are a lot of hurdles to overcome.

  1. Great risk
  2. Lots more work
  3. Greater finances tied up
  4. It is easy to get burned
  5. You have to find someone you believe in, works as hard as you, and someone you can put your company name on

That is a lot riding on one person to try and make a few more bucks. It’s not to say that it can’t be done (I have three full time staff), however what I’m about to teach you is so much easier and you can start TODAY!

FACTS

  1. Over 66% of brides have a photo booth at their wedding!
    • We shot 40 weddings last year, 27 of them had a booth. Costofwedding.com also found that between 59-69% of couples choose to rent a photo booth for their wedding.
  2. You are a photographer!
  3. Your bride’s wants to get her photo booth from YOU!

Last year, I grossed $10,567 in profit from our single photo booth IN ITS FIRST YEAR. Now that the booth is paid off and we have been in the market one year, we are on track to bring in around $25,000 profit with our single photo booth.

Read that again.

This is not a full photo booth company. It is one single booth.

What would you do with an extra $10-25K?

WARNING
If you have the right photo booth this is incredibly easy to sell, set-up and run. Be warned. If you have the wrong photo booth it will be incredibly hard to sell, costly to set up, and a massive burden on you.

What makes for a great photo booth?

  1. A helpful community full of resources
    • Remember. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE A WHOLE OTHER BUSINESS THAT TAKES UP ALL OF YOUR TIME!
You need to work with a company that will give you crazy awesome support. When you don’t know how to do something, you should be able to hop online and near IMMEDIATELY have the answer in front of you.
  2. Social integration
  3. Intuitive and modern interface
  4. Operated by the guests
    • NO photographers taking pics (that puts you back to having dollars tied to hours).
  5. Small and simple to set up
    • I can’t stress this enough. You should be able to fit your photo booth in a standard sized car.
  6. Customizable configuration for up-sells
    • Video functionality, green screen, GIF, 4X6 or 2×6 prints, all digital options.

I only know of one photo booth company that provides all of this value, which I’ll get to in a second, but first let’s talk about what’s involved in running the photo booth.

Automation is Awesome

You need to have an automated system set up to pretty much run the company for you.

We use Tave and would highly recommend it. The new Tave 4 just launched and has completely rocked our world!

I used ShootQ for 4 years and jumped ship to Tave earlier this year. I should have done it sooner.

With Tave, when someone emails us inquiring about our photo booth.

  • I click 2 buttons in Tave and they either book us on the spot, call me, or ignore it.
  • If they call me I talk for 5-10 min. They either book me or we aren’t a good fit.

For an extra 10K + a year, YOU can do that.

Here is what makes a photo booth such a great add on service

  1. Little risk
  2. Little work
  3. Once it is paid off, at least 90% of every gig is profit
  4. You can have any non-skilled person run it (you don’t have to be a pro-photographer, I have college students run our booth)
  5. Competition in a lot of areas is still shockingly low
  6. Most of your brides will buy it

It is not the same type of financial commitment and pressure of wedding photography. The images don’t carry the same weight as the wedding photographers pictures.

Photo booth images are a COMMODITY, embrace it, and be free’d up by it!

I’m not suggesting to run a poor company, but you don’t have to have the same stress on your shoulders that comes with wedding photography.

WE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHERS DON’T NEED MORE STRESS!

This literally just happened
In the middle of writing this post, I literally just had a repeat client call me to book our booth at his annual St. Patricks Day party. $3,200 bill. That’s what I’m talking about!

Who do we use for for our photo booth?

The Photobooth Supply Co. run by Brandon Wong & Katrina Santos.

Hands down the best photo booth on the market. Here’s why.

There are plenty of photo booths that have popped up in recent months that have ripped off Brandon’s design, but they are missing one HUGE aspect to what Brandon offers.

The community.

When you buy a photo booth from Brandon, he doesn’t just sell you a box that takes pics.

He gives you a turn-key photo booth business.

I had ZERO events under my belt starting out, how was I going to market? No worries, Brandon gave me his OWN event images that I could use with my own branding until I got off the ground.

He and the community distribute background templates to use, pricing ideas, marketing techniques, etc.

They even have a private Facebook group that is incredibly giving!

You guys, the best people in the industry use The Photobooth Supply Co. To name just a few,

  1. Jerry Ghionis
  2. Davina and Daniel
  3. JP Elario
  4. Fer Juaristi
  5. Susan Stripling
  6. Dark Roux
  7. Fearless Photographers
  8. Ben Hartley …(see what I did there?)

Do yourself a favor and check out the full set of benefits over at the Photobooth Supply Co. website.
